The CandleScience Story.

During the summer of 2004, two brothers with a focused dream and an unparalleled work ethic came knocking on Ad Salon's door.

Full-time programmers and long-time candle makers, the brothers were fed up with existing candle making supply websites. Low quality products, high prices, deplorable customer service, lack of candle making expertise and poor site user experiences prevailed. The duo saw this as an opportunity, and turned to Ad Salon for help.

We performed in-depth market and competition analysis, and observed the same glaring opportunity the brothers shared with us in our first meeting. So, with a grand bit of enthusiasm, we signed on to aid in the success of their new venture.

Ad Salon Lends A Helping Hand.

As this was to be a newly formed entity, Ad Salon was given the profound and rare gift of naming the business and developing its identity.

The brothers had a clearly defined goal for the company: to provide a secure, easy online shopping environment with superior candle making products, and also to offer expert candle advice to its customer base. Using that company mission statement, we developed the CandleScience name and its accompanying brand – applying it product packaging, letterhead, shipping boxes, etc.

Search engine optimization (SEO) campaigns these days can take six months to a year before seeing massive results, so we stuck a rock-star PPC (pay-per-click) campaign in CandleScience’s marketing quiver just prior to launch. In this way, the PPC campaign would bring online traffic from Google, Yahoo and other sites to CandleScience.com while the SEO work was driving CandleScience.com pages to the top of natural search results.

In Fall of 2004, CandleScience.com launched with rave reviews from customers, an easy-to-use website, and a powerful brand.
